Hydro-jetting is a process that uses high
speed / high pressure water to clear blockages in pipe systems
and is typically the first approach to clearing blocked lines.
Barring the possibility of a collapsed line, hydro-jetting
will solve the problem and thereafter routine maintenance
will keep the lines free and functioning properly. Various
obstructions hinder or block the flow of sewage to the city
connection or septic field. Water pressure from 5,000 psi
to 35,000 psi is usually recommended to blast away the clog
or clean the pipes to the best possible standard. The technique
of hydro jetting can be used in practically every industry
where cleaning and unclogging specific areas is required.
Maintenance of this sort will go a long way toward minimizing
eventual blockages that could result in a line breakage requiring
more drastic and expensive remediation.
Our high-pressure pipe cleaning service
successfully cleans difficult blockages. The hydro-jet unit
is suitable for the clearing of storm drains and sewerage
drain lines. It has the ability to break through pipeline
defections, concrete slurry and other miscellaneous items,
including tree roots, cans, bottles, plastics, silt, soil
and pretty much anything else.
How does hydro-jetting work?
One
of the most extraordinary developments in sewer cleaning technology
is the water jet. A hose is propelled by water into the sewer line
under tremendous pressure. As the hose returns, the sewer line is
cleaned by powerful forward and reverse jets of water, which wash
the materials back for removal.
This is achieved by a range of pressure jet heads, which are propelled
through the drain lines by water thrust. These heads are designed
for pipe sizing ranging from 50 mm to 600 mm diameter. Root drive
equipment allows us to cut through drains badly infested with tree
roots, a major cause of drain blockages. If jetting fails, we need
to do a video inspection (hyper link this to the “camera line” section)
of the line. Many times in locations that jetting fails, is
due to improper turns, reverse fittings, line breaks, or extremely
poor construction. Situation like these will need to
have the area pinpointed and line dug up (link this to “dig
up”).
